Community Involvement
I.R. Wilson Consultants Ltd. is proud of our community involvement. We have a proven record in engaging with the general public, First Nations, university students, school groups and local sports teams.
In 2007, we presented archaeological research findings to the Tsawout First Nataion from a nearby excavation project. In 2008, in partnership with the Qualicum First Nation, we hosted a stone tool workshop at the Parksville Cultural Fair. Previously, we presented a stone artifacts and flintknapping course for the Halfway River First Nation Archaeological Field Training Course.
Our staff have also guest lectured on several occasions at the University of Victoria and provided information and guidance for local elementary schools through formal career day functions at the university. We are also proud to have sponsored the Chemainus First Nation soccer team.
We have provided work-shadowing opportunities for high school students so they can gain valuable career experience in professional archaeology.
